General Finishes' premium Brushable White Enamel (BWE) is a water-based white topcoat formulated to be brushed or rolled on interior furniture and cabinet projects, similar to their White Poly. Ideal for cabinets, furniture, and millwork, this enamel acts as a 2-in-1 paint and topcoat, making it a perfect choice for those who want to work with Enduro White Poly but don't own a spray gun.

Unlike traditional clear topcoats, BWE is self-sealing and does not require an additional topcoat. It is important to note that applying clear topcoats over bright white paint may result in yellowing due to a reaction with the substrate. Similarly, light-colored paints may also experience some yellowing when a topcoat is applied, but the effect will be less noticeable.

For raw wood surfaces, General Finishes recommends applying their Stain Blocker first to prevent potential wood tannin bleed-through before using the BWE.

As for the number of coats required, 2-3 coats of BWE are recommended for optimal coverage and finish.

BWE is available in two sheen options: Satin and Semi-Gloss, and can be purchased in both Quart and Gallon sizes to accommodate a variety of project sizes.
